How it is calculated

Monthly position = Total output VAT − Total input VAT − Previous credit balance − Withholdings/perceptions.

Credit notes follow the VAT Law (arts. 11 and 12): a credit note received from a supplier (purchases) is output VAT for you; a credit note you issued to a customer (sales) is input VAT for you.

Invoices in foreign currency are converted to pesos using the exchange rate on each row of the ARCA report.

⚠️ "Mis Comprobantes" does not include everything. Some VAT items are not listed — for example import clearances, bank statements and some "tique factura A" receipts from older fiscal printers. If you have input or output VAT from those items, add it manually.

What is this calculator for?

It is designed for Registered Taxpayers (Responsables Inscriptos) in Argentina who want to know, at any time during the month, where their VAT position stands without waiting for month-end. Take the Mis Comprobantes files you download from the ARCA portal (issued and received), add the credit balance carried from the previous month and any withholdings, and the calculator shows whether you will have VAT to pay or a credit balance.

How to use it

  1. Log in to ARCA → Mis Comprobantes and download the Emitidos (issued) list for the period (xlsx or csv/zip).
  2. Do the same with the Recibidos (received) list.
  3. Upload both files on this page.
  4. Enter the previous month's credit balance and total withholdings/perceptions.
  5. Check the result: if positive, it is roughly what you will have to pay; if negative, it is your credit balance.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool replace the VAT return (form F.2002)?

No. It is a guidance estimate to monitor your position during the month. Your accountant prepares the final return based on the complete VAT ledger, adjustments, apportionments and other details this calculator does not cover.

Is my data stored on any server?

No. Files are read and processed entirely in your browser (with JavaScript); they are never uploaded or stored anywhere.

How are credit notes treated?

Under the VAT Law they are not netted on their own side: a credit note you received from a supplier is added as output VAT, and one you issued to a customer is added as input VAT. This is the same approach used in the VAT return.

What if I upload the sales file in the purchases box (or vice versa)?

The calculator detects each file's type automatically and will not process it in the wrong box — it lets you know so you can upload it in the right place.

Does "Mis Comprobantes" include all my VAT invoices?

Not necessarily. ARCA does not list some VAT items — for example import clearances, bank statements and some "tique factura A" receipts from older fiscal printers. If you have such items, add them manually to the result.

Informational tool for guidance only. It does not replace the VAT return or professional advice. Talk to an accountant for your final filing.
